Everyone is invited to celebrate Nathan Hale's birthday on Saturday, June 1, 2024, 10:30 am at Nathan Hale Park. Nathan Hale Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) will lay a wreath at the statue, present a brief history of Hale's life, and give away U.S. Flags.
William Ordway Partridge, the sculptor, worked with the ladies of the Nathan Hale Chapter to create the statue. Most of those original DAR women lived in the Ramsey Hill neighborhood. They loved American history and desired to honor the sacrifice of Revolutionary War patriots. Nathan Hale, the 21-year-old martyr, was their representative hero.
