Deutsche Tag at GAI


The Germanic-American Institute is celebrating 30 years as a leading language and cultural non-profit in Minnesota with its 66th annual Deutsche Tage (German Days).

Saturday, June 8 | 11 AM to 9 PM

Sunday, June 9 | 11 AM to 5 PM


One of St. Paul’s longest-running ethnic festivals, the family-friendly event takes place on the grounds of the Germanic-American Institute. To celebrate the GAI’s 30th anniversary as the non-profit for Germanic language and cultural studies in the state of Minnesota, the event features authentic German and European food fare, Paulaner beer, music and traditional dance and fun for the whole family. Highlights of 2024 include guests Pommersche Tanzdeel Freistadt from Western Ozaukee County, Wisconsin, featuring traditional dance and song from Pomeranian regions of Germany.


Admission is free. Adults 21 and over may buy a $10 wristbands for beer and wine purchase with valid ID. No pets allowed, but service animals are always welcome.

Entertainment


The GAI welcomes the Pommersche Tanzdeel Freistadt, Bavarian Musikmeisters, The Jolly Huntsman, Minnesänger Choir, Jimi the Polka Pirate and Rivers Ballet. Full entertainment schedule here.


Food

Aki’s Pretzels, Black Forest Inn, Ruhland’s Strudel, German Brat Haus, Nuttin’ Like It, and home-baked cakes and tortes by the GAI’s volunteer women’s booster group, the Damenklub.

Beverages

Paulaner German beers on tap, and non-alcoholic beer and soft drinks.
